Understanding BYOK Mode Costs
In BYOK mode, you provide your own OpenAI or Gemini API keys. GenCV platform is completely free, but you'll pay OpenAI/Google directly based on their API pricing:

Note: Resume Builder is not available in BYOK mode as it requires advanced features, cloud storage, and significantly more AI processing. Use Premium Wallet for resume building.

What is BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) mode?▼
BYOK mode allows you to use GenCV completely free by providing your own OpenAI or Gemini API keys. You'll pay OpenAI/Google directly for API usage (typically $0.01-0.05 per generation). No signup required, and you can use email and cover letter generators unlimited times.
What is Premium Wallet mode?▼
Premium Wallet is our paid tier where we handle all the technical setup. You purchase credits via Razorpay (Indian payment gateway), and we manage the AI generation for you. This mode includes resume builder, cloud storage, and priority support. Your wallet balance never expires.
What is the introductory pricing for new users?▼
Every new user who signs up gets 14 days of lower rates: ₹5 for email/cover letters and ₹10 for resume exports. After 14 days from signup, prices increase to ₹10 for email/cover letters and ₹20 for resume exports. This is a one-time benefit to help you get started.
Do wallet credits expire?▼
No! Your wallet balance never expires. Add credits anytime and use them whenever you need, without any time pressure.
What does the 30-day free re-download mean?▼
When you export a resume for ₹10 (or ₹20 after intro period), you can download it again for free within 30 days. After 30 days, you'll need to pay again to export. This gives you flexibility to make edits and re-download without extra charges.
Can I switch between BYOK and Premium Wallet modes?▼
Yes! You can use BYOK mode for email and cover letters anytime, even if you have a Premium Wallet account. However, the Resume Builder is exclusive to Premium Wallet users as it requires advanced features and cloud storage.
Which AI models are supported?▼
We support all major AI models from OpenAI (GPT-4o, GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-3.5 Turbo, etc.) and Google Gemini (2.5 Pro, 2.5 Flash, 1.5 Pro, etc.). In BYOK mode, you choose which model to use. In Premium Wallet, we optimize model selection for best results.
Is my data secure?▼
Absolutely. In BYOK mode, API keys are stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. In Premium Wallet, all API calls are made server-side with encrypted keys, and your data is stored securely in our Supabase database with row-level security policies.
What payment methods are accepted?▼
We accept all major Indian payment methods via Razorpay: UPI, credit/debit cards, net banking, and popular wallets (Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, etc.).
Is there a subscription?▼
No subscriptions! We believe in pay-as-you-go pricing. Only pay for what you generate. This keeps costs low and gives you complete control over your spending.
What happens to my resumes if I stop using the platform?▼
In BYOK mode, your resumes are stored in your browser's local storage. In Premium Wallet, your generated resumes are saved in the cloud and remain accessible as long as your account is active. You can export them anytime and keep them forever.
Can I get a refund?▼
Due to the nature of AI generation (we incur costs for each generation), we don't offer refunds on completed generations. However, if you experience technical issues preventing generation, please contact support and we'll assist you.
